Vocational Services

Uniquely OT focuses on providing services to individuals with mental health conditions and support for employers managing employees with mental health conditions in the workplace. These services include return to work programmes, incapacity and absenteeism assessments, functional capacity evaluations and mediation services.

Psychiatric Functional Capacity Evaluations

Psychiatric functional capacity evaluations assess an individual's ability to perform work-related tasks to determine how mental health conditions may impact job performance. The goal is to provide a clear understanding of the individual's capabilities and limitations in a work setting, offering guidance on accommodations, rehabilitation, or return-to-work decisions. This evaluation is essential for employers and insurance companies in making informed decisions regarding applications to group and individual insurance policies as well as balancing the needs of the employee and the workplace. I am fully trained in the provision of Psychiatric Functional Capacity Evaluations.

Absenteeism / Incapacity analysis

Absenteeism / incapacity analysis and assessments for an employer or an individual employee involves evaluating patterns and trends in sick leave usage. This process helps employers identify potential issues such as excessive sick leave usage or individual employee health concerns in order to implement a case management programme or advice on health management strategies in the workplace. All absenteeism / incapacity assessments are conducted confidentially and with the requisite informed consent in place. These assessments can be conducted with a review of medical and sick leave information only or may include a work site visit and face to face meeting with both the employee and employer.

Return to work / Case Management Services

Return to work and case management services are designed to support individuals transitioning back into the workplace after a period of absence due to mental health conditions. These programmes are tailored, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of the individual, such as flexible work hours, gradual re-entry, and access to mental health resources. Collaboration between Uniquely OT, the employer and employee is crucial to ensure a supportive environment that promotes recovery and well-being. These programmes aim to reduce stigma, prevent relapse, and help employees regain confidence and productivity while balancing their mental health needs.
